Fail Safes.

Although I am usually a simple dresser who sticks with basics and the usual statement piece, I am a firm believer in a few good accessories. Here are my favourites this summer:

My little tan backpack from Italy was such a great find and I haven't used a different bag since, I love it. It's the perfect size and everything. (The Blue Peter badge is my dads.)
Not just a summer time accessory, but most of the time, I have a pair of Vans on my feet. I just love them too much. Here are my current favourites.

And finally jewellery; I am a total magpie and love anything silver, but the necklace I have been reaching for lately is a little different; handmade by the beautiful ladies at Bestow Jewellery, it is the perfect accessory for a summer by the sea.

What are your go-to accessories at the moment?

Old Love Affairs

Whilst trying to clear out some of my wardrobe recently, I came across my leather pants. Last year, I adored these beauties, Friends jokes aside, but this year I wasn't so sure. I decided to try style them up again to see how I felt: I paired them with another old favourite in the form of my low back American Apparel vest and my new Topshop skate shoes and now I am just waiting for an occasion to wear this outfit!

What do you guys think?

Right Now You're All That I Recognise

I have found myself drawn to dresses a lot more than usual recently, maybe because it is starting to feel more like Spring? This beauty of a number is from Motel Rocks who always produce amazing prints in a range of styles. The perfect loose fit and stunning pattern had me at hello, it is most certainly going to be a go to piece for a long time to come!

T-Rex

Just a simple comfy outfit today; me and Chantelle are taking Robbie to baby massage! Yay. This cardigan is a new favourite of mine, it was an impulse bid on ebay, 99p is just so tempting isn't it! But I won and it is so comfy and lovely. And it brightens up an otherwise pretty boring Levis and vest outfit. I also got some lovely new silver rings which you can see in my t-rex hand photo:) Bit gutted that the one on my right index hand didn't come out that clearly as it is a gorgeous shell set in the silver.

High Hopes

A quick outfit today. A maxi skirt is a pretty girly piece for me but it was down to £7 in the sale at work so I thought I would give it a go! Teamed with a trusty boyfriend tee and my two tone vans, I still feel fairly comfortable which is nice. Finally, how fab is this necklace! It's actually my mum's but I just had to steal it for today, it was a whole £6 from Primark!! I was very impressed, I think it looks more like an Accessorize piece or something.

What do you think of my attempt to be feminine for a day?:)

Oh, and my room is a total state at the moment which is why the pictures aren't great, I need to work on that! Sorryyy.

Painting Flowers

A little outfit post for you now. And yes, I have dyed my hair again...
This is what I was on Christmas day, my favourite white t shirt, slightly sheer with a floral pattern, it is just plain enough for the day but with that little added drama.
The black skort was one of my favourite recent finds: I loved the white Zara one that everyone was rocking this summer but never got around to purchasing one. This black piece was a mere £8 on ebay!! The quality is really good for the price and I can tell I am gonna wear it ALOT! I think I may even purchase it in white for good measure. Topped off with some glittery socks and my favourite silver pieces ( a couple new) and I was set. This is an outfit I will wear again and again.

Gimme Shelter

You'll have to excuse my outfit post photos as the concept of taking photos of myself is just a bit too much and it shows but I did want to start sharing looks and what not so just bear with me?:)
This is something you will see me in more often than you probably should, short shorts and a giant t shirt. These two items probably make up more than half of my wardrobe and these two are particular favourites.
These are the lighter denim Levi 501's and they are just so soft and comfortable and lovely because I wear them SO often. I did have to size up an inch waist-wise so that I could actually wear them round my waist not my hips (I am abnormally long in the body and legs..) but with a belt, it isn't very noticable.
On to the t shirt; no I will never stop mentioning the fact that I saw the Stones in summer, it was thee best thing ever..(post here). I had to buy this shirt as soon as I saw it but the fit was absolutely horrific. I know this isn't the most flattering fit or whatever but I much prefer it; I just stitched the emblem on to a trusty Fruit of the Loom tee. Paired with my old but still going strong creepers and my new Topshop jumper for warmth, and I'm done.

Boohoo #DRESSMAS

I thought I would enter the Christmas outfit competition that Boohoo are running through their instagram, you simply photograph your favourite Christmas look, it doesn't have to be a Boohoo piece; make sure you are following and tag @boohooofficial and #dressmas. Simple.
This is a dress that some of you may have seen before as it is one of my all time favourites. A vintage piece I picked up from Cow about 4 years ago for my pal Billing's 20's themed birthday. At the time, I don't think I had realised what a gem it was but now, I adore it. It is the sort of thing I can always pull out for a slightly posh night out or a wedding or birthday and know I will feel confident (by my standards) in it. I have to team it with a plain black skirt to retain some dignity but otherwise it pretty much speaks for itself. It is pretty heavy for a dress because of all the beading but it is just such a stunning piece isn't it. Teamed with my trusty Topshop shoe boots that make me about 6'5" and also only come out for special occasions, it makes the perfect Christmas outfit for lil ol' me.

What do you think? What would be your Christmas outfit?

More Charity Shop Gold

I was in need of a little retail therapy the other day but as I'm am very short of pennies, I hit up a few charity shops and they really delivered! Firstly, a cute floral vest which will go with anything, a whole £1.95. Then a new leather handbag, big enough for me to lug around my camera and all the other crap I insist I "need". Finally, for eight whole pounds, this beautiful wool blend, oversized blazer style coat!! I love this style of coat but never dreamed I would be able to afford one as all the nicest ones are pushing £80 or something. This is exactly what I wanted, monochrome, with pockets for chilly fingers, well lined and warm. What more could a girl ask for!

For Love and Lemons Lingerie

A while ago, I did a post on the beautiful American brand For Love and Lemons; everything they create has a certain effortless beauty and style and I lust after it all. This summer they launched their first lingerie line and boy, did they deliver with this one! I am a firm believer that beautiful underwear is one of the best pick me up;s for us girls. It is definitely one of my main loves. Even when I am dressed like a tramp, no make up, boys shirt, I will usually be wearing some lovely skivvies, I just can't help it, it makes me feel better and I love it! I am constantly lusting after gorgeous pieces that are far to expensive for the amount of fabric involved but what can I say, I suppose I am a girl underneath all the scruffy shirts. Back to the collection at hand, modelled by the incredibly stunning Sheila Marquez, every piece is feminine and stunning with a bit of edge and old school glamour thrown in for good measure. Timeless and perfect if you ask me.
Someone please just let me have it all?

What do you think?

Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane Dupes

I have been dying for a pair of Coltranes for so long, but I have never been able to justify spending that much on a pair of shoes. Recently, some really good dupes have been popping up on the market including a pair in New Look that sold out ridiculously fast! It was even difficult to get a pair on good old ebay! I finally managed though and for £27.99, I am so chuffed! Fair enough, when you're up close, you can definitely tell they aren't as good quality as a beaut pair of Jeffrey's, but I am not gonna complain:)

What do you think? Have you seen any good dupes about? Or are you lucky enough to own a pair of the real things?:)

I Carried A Watermelon..

I posted over summer how much I was loving the watermelon inspired trends popping up so when I was making some things for Michele the other day, I thought I'd make myself a colourful tee to brighten up my wardrobe....

I'm so happy with how it turned out and can't wait to pair it with some black skinnies and my leather jacket or something!

What do you guys think?
